Proposition 300 also deals with basic legal rights, in this case the rights of children who are born of undocumented parents in this country. Even though they are U.S. citizens, they could be denied educational aid and social services solely on the basis of what their parents did or did not do. This kind of unfair punishment does nothing to help us solve our immigration problems and only creates an atmosphere of resentment.
